Pinky

Say hello to our bundle of joy, Pinky! This beautiful little boy was only one day old when we rescued him on the 29th of September 2023.

We received a message from a vet in Norfolk, saying that a piglet had been handed in. He was found in the middle of a road all bumped and bruised, with his umbilical cord still attached. It's likely that he tumbled from a moving vehicle transporting his mother to a breeding farm or slaughterhouse.

Being so young and separated from his mum, it was crucial to provide him with the best care to ensure his survival. Up to 20% of piglets born don't make it through their first week of life, often due to getting too cold. Piglets can't regulate their body temperature until they're about three weeks old, and Pinky needed to be fed every hour to ensure he received the right nutrients for healthy growth.

Despite the odds, Pinky showed his fighting spirit from the start, and it was clear he'd be just fine. Hayley has been tending to him tirelessly at home, and he's already grown so much in such a short time!

He is a little mischievous monkey who loves playing with Hayley's dogs, even though they're much larger than him. He loves to cuddle with his mummy and suckle on her arm like a dummy. He is such a brave and funny boy, who has already gone from strength to strength!
